Padel in Thailand 2026: every big tournament this year, and why Pattaya is next

Almost 200 clubs, seven international tour stops and Grand Slams from Bangkok to Phuket. Here is the year in one page.

Two years ago most people in Thailand had never seen a padel court. In 2026 the country became one of the fastest growing padel markets anywhere. If you missed the season so far, good news: the biggest weekend on the Eastern Seaboard has not happened yet.

Club and court growth from the FIP World Padel Report 2026, quoted by the International Padel Federation in October 2026.

Why padel took off here

Padel fits Thailand almost too well. The court is a third the size of a tennis court, the serve is underarm and the walls keep the ball in play, so beginners rally from the first session. Roofed courts beat the rain and the midday sun. And it is played in fours, which makes it the most social racket sport there is. Expats brought the game, Thai players picked it up fast, and in 2026 the international tour followed.

2027 will be bigger

Every number above is a first: the first Grand Slams, the first Silver event in Bangkok, the first season with almost 200 clubs. The calendar for 2027 is not out yet, but the direction is clear. More clubs mean more players, and more players mean more tournaments, closer to home. Pattaya, two hours from Bangkok with a big expat and tourist scene, is next in line, and the Chilli Grand Slam is built to come back every year, bigger each time.

The best way to be ready is simple: play. Join a weekly Americano or Mexicano at Chilli Padel, sharpen up with a lesson from our coaches, and enter the Grand Slam in the category that fits you.

Your first tournament could be in two weeks

Open categories are for amateurs. Not sure which one fits? Reception will help you pick.
